So here it is the updated version of my Robotlegs Modular + Flash CS5 Project Template for FDT 4.5, what it does? it will let You create a Flash CS5+Robotlegs Modular project using Robotlegs version 1.4.0 and Joel Hooks version of Stray’s Utility Modular.

Project Settings

The project is set so You can enter your own package structure e.g. “com.yourdomain.project” it will crate a folder called modules with the all the classes needed it will also create a Flash .XFL with the Views( MovieClips) already mapped to Your classes.

I also gave the design a little make over ;) see the example above.

So where do You get this template and how to use it:

1.- Download the Project Template form GitHub extra points if You make a fork.

2.- Install the project template in Your FDT folder:
On OSX the path is: (Your User Name) > Library > Application Support > FDT
For windows: C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\FDT

3.- Create a project with this template in Your project settings will be on Web>Robotlegs Modular + Flash CS5

4.- Compile the Project and Enjoy ;-)

I’m coming back to flash after a long time away and I’m new to FDT and robotlegs. But I was wondering, last time I was building stuff, relying on Flash to actually build your app was just a terrible waste of time, and it was much faster to use FDT (or flashbuilder) to build everything using the flex compiler (im talking about using pure AS3 projects, not flex). Isn’t that still the case?

Is there a template out there for a pure as3 project compiled by FDT that uses resources from swc files?

Theo, I have FDT 5 and the default templates provided for pure AS3 are great. The templates for Robotlegs are great too. You can even create your own!

Hello Theo,

As Patrick says the Pure AS3 templates included in FDT work just great, I created the Flash + Robotlegs template because most of my projects are for digital agencies and they use Flash for animations and heavy graphic multimedia sites, so regularly there are a lot of .flas previously created by animators and this template speed ups the process of getting those files hooked up together.

Cheers,
Dave

I’ve gotten pretty far. The only problem is that when I go to create my Run Config the Main class is not being selected…its pointing to a class that doesn’t exist!
I’m sure its something simple. This is my first stab at this stuff.

Here are my files

Any help would be SWEET!

Thanks Dave!
